The Kentec LD-WL8-LACP Wireless Lockdown Alarm Control Panel is designed for use as part of a Kentec wireless lockdown system, allowing authorised users to initiate lockdown messages across connected lockdown voice annunciators. It is suitable for sites that need a dedicated, controlled method of triggering different lockdown notifications during a security incident.

The panel is supplied with 3 activation keyswitches to help prevent unauthorised operation. Each keyswitch is connected to a Wireless Lockdown Input Module inside the enclosure, which monitors the keyswitch status. When operated, the input module sends a signal to the lockdown translator, which then sends a signal to the voice annunciators to play the required lockdown message.

The 3 message options are Lockdown, Covert and All Clear. Lockdown activates the system to play the lockdown notification message. Covert plays a message to notify specific personnel without causing general disruption. All Clear confirms that the lockdown event is over. If more than one keyswitch is operated, the lockdown message takes highest priority and overrides the other messages.

In the context of Martyn’s Law, officially the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025, organisations responsible for certain premises and events are expected to consider public protection procedures and improve preparedness for terrorist incidents.

A lockdown notification system can support this planning by helping sites communicate clearly during a security threat, although the correct measures will depend on the premises, risk assessment and legal duties that apply.
