Kentec LD-WL8-EXP Wireless Lockdown Expander Module

The Kentec LD-WL8-EXP Wireless Lockdown Expander Module is used as part of a Kentec Wireless Lockdown system to increase radio coverage on larger sites or in buildings where the signal between wireless devices and the translator requires strengthening. It helps create a more robust wireless lockdown network by improving communication paths between field devices and the Wireless Lockdown Translator Module.

The expander supports the mesh communication structure used within the Kentec wireless lockdown range. Multiple expander modules can be connected to a single translator, creating multiple radio paths back to the translator and helping the system maintain communication through the strongest available signal path.

Each LD-WL8-EXP is allocated an address on the wireless translator between 21 and 126. It can communicate with the wireless field devices used within the lockdown system, transmitting information back to the translator module through a bi-directional radio communication protocol.

The unit uses self-optimising wireless amplitude and frequency technology and includes 2 internal antennae to help reduce signal fading and support reliable radio communication. It is supplied in a compact polycarbonate housing for discreet surface mounting.

The LD-WL8-EXP requires a separate 24V DC power supply with battery back-up, such as the Kentec STX2401-C boxed power supply. System parameters associated with the expander are configurable through the associated translator module.
