Yes. Ajax EN54 is a wireless addressable fire alarm system, with detectors, call points, sounders, VADs and other devices communicating with the EN54 Fire Hub using Ajax's Jeweller radio technology. This can significantly reduce the amount of cabling required, making the system particularly useful for retrofits and occupied buildings where disruption needs to be kept to a minimum. The only device that needs to use cabling is the panel itself which needs to be wired in via the mains supply.
Yes. The Ajax EN54 Line is designed specifically for commercial fire detection and includes EN54-certified control equipment, detectors, sounders, VADs, I/O modules and wireless range extension. As with any commercial fire alarm, the complete system still needs to be correctly designed, installed and commissioned for the building and required fire alarm category.
The Ajax EN54 Fire Hub can support up to 200 devices across 40 fire zones, making it suitable for anything from smaller commercial installations through to more substantial systems. The system also supports up to 64 fire alarm scenarios, allowing different detectors or call points to trigger specific sounders, VADs and outputs.
One of the main advantages of Ajax EN54 is the reduced requirement for fire alarm cabling. Wireless devices can be added to the system by scanning their QR code and configured through Ajax software, helping reduce installation time and disruption compared with running cables to every field device. Radio coverage still needs to be properly assessed, particularly in larger buildings or those with challenging construction. Ajax offers the EN54 Fire ReX range extender where additional coverage is required.
