Envirograf Intumescent Coating for Steel

This water-based intumescent coating is designed to provide effective fire protection for structural steel and aluminium.

It can be applied easily using a brush, roller or spray, creating a smooth, even finish suitable for both on-site and off-site application.

In the event of a fire, unprotected steel can rapidly reach temperatures of around 550°C, at which point it loses its load-bearing strength and structural failure can occur.

This coating reacts to heat by expanding to form an insulating char, helping to delay temperature rise and maintain structural integrity for longer.

The coating provides up to 90 minutes of fire protection, supporting compliance with building regulations and fire safety legislation.

Its water-based, low-odour formulation makes it ideal for use in occupied buildings or areas where solvent-based products would be unsuitable.

Once cured, the coating can be overpainted with a wide range of decorative finishes.

A full selection of compatible top sealers, including water-based and solvent-based options, is available to suit different environments and aesthetic requirements.
