The Vimpex Banshee IS28 MK6 is a high-output intrinsically safe sounder designed for hazardous area fire, safety and process alarm applications. Based on the proven Banshee platform, it delivers reliable audible warning with low current consumption, making it suitable for a wide range of industrial environments.
The sounder is ATEX and IECEx approved for gas and dust hazards and can be installed in Zones 0, 1, 2, 20, 21 and 22. With up to 32 selectable alarm tones and a maximum output of 98 dBA at 1 metre, it provides clear and effective warning even in noisy locations.
Volume is adjustable via internal DIP switches, allowing installers to balance sound output and power consumption. The robust ABS enclosure is IP66 rated when fitted correctly, offering protection against dust and water ingress.
For compliant intrinsically safe operation, the IS28 MK6 must be connected via a certified galvanic isolator or zener barrier.
