Paxton 353-210 Compact Proximity Reader - P50

The Paxton 353-210 Compact Proximity Reader P50 is a standalone RFID access control reader designed to provide convenient contactless authentication without requiring a PC for system setup. Combining the reader and control unit in a single compact device, it is suitable for lower-security internal and external doors where restricted access is required.

Users gain access by presenting a compatible proximity token close to the reader. The P50 then checks the token against its programmed permissions and provides clear visual and audible feedback.

Three LEDs are illuminated during normal operation, with the green LED flashing when access is granted and the red LED flashing when access is denied. An audible tone is also provided for both outcomes.

The reader supports up to 5,000 tokens/users using 100-card packs and provides an adjustable door-open time from 1 to 60 seconds. An exit button input is included, while silent operation can be selected where audible indication is not required. Stored data is retained for more than 10 years in the event of a total power loss.

Designed for practical installation, the P50 operates from an 11V to 14V DC supply and provides a 12V DC lock output rated at 750mA at 12V.

It has an IPX7 moisture resistance rating and an operating temperature range of -20°C to +55°C. Black or white covers/bezels are supplied. Paxton advises against mounting proximity readers on metal surfaces or close to other proximity readers as this can affect reading range.
