C-TEC CA447A/DW/LD CAST Lockdown Wall Voice Sounder VAD (Deep Base)

The C-TEC CA447A/DW/LD is a white, wall-mounted high-output voice sounder VAD designed for C-TEC CAST Invacuation/Lockdown systems. Combining clear voice messaging with a blue-flashing visual alarm device, it provides both audible and visual indication when a lockdown situation is underway.

Five pre-recorded voice messages are included as standard, covering full lockdown, partial lockdown for internal and external threats, full evacuation and all-clear conditions.

When used with an LAP2/CA Multi-Message Lockdown Alert system, all five messages can be activated as required. It can also be used with an LAP501/CA Single-Message Lockdown Alert system, where the full lockdown message is available. Custom or coded voice messages can also be supplied by special order.

The unit is also suitable for use as part of a combined C-TEC ZFP CAST protocol fire alarm and lockdown system. Its onboard short-circuit loop isolator supports system integrity, while group addressing allows multiple devices to operate simultaneously. Four selectable volume levels provide installation flexibility, with a nominal sound pressure level of 92dB(A) at 1 metre.

The CA447A/DW/LD can form part of a wider lockdown strategy intended to support preparedness under the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025, commonly known as Martyn’s Law, which introduces public protection requirements for certain premises and events.

Designed for wall mounting in indoor areas, the unit is IP33C Type B rated and operates from 27 to 40V DC.
