C-TEC CA446A/DW/LD CA Lockdown Wall Voice Sounder (Deep Base)

The C-TEC CA446A/DW/LD is a white, wall-mounted high-output voice sounder designed for C-TEC CAST Invacuation/Lockdown systems.

It provides clear, distinctive voice alerts to communicate different emergency actions and can be used with dedicated lockdown equipment or as part of a combined CAST protocol fire alarm and lockdown system.

Five voice messages are included as standard, covering full lockdown, partial lockdown for internal and external threats, full evacuation and all-clear conditions. When connected to an LAP2/CA Multi-Message Lockdown Alert system, all five messages can be triggered to provide different instructions according to the nature of the incident.

The sounder can also be used with an LAP501/CA Single-Message Lockdown Alert system, where the full lockdown message is available. Custom or coded messages can be supplied by special order.

The product can also form part of a wider lockdown strategy intended to support preparedness under the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025, commonly known as Martyn’s Law.

The legislation introduces requirements for certain premises and events to have appropriate public protection procedures in place, including lockdown, communication and evacuation or invacuation planning.

For reliable system operation, the CA446A/DW/LD incorporates an onboard short-circuit loop isolator and supports group addressing, allowing multiple devices to operate simultaneously. Four selectable volume levels provide flexibility during commissioning, while the nominal sound pressure level is 92dB(A) at 1 metre.
