Ajax Residence Line FireProtect 2 Wireless Sealed Battery Smoke & Heat Detector

The Ajax Residence Line FireProtect 2 SB (Heat/Smoke) Jeweller is a wireless fire detector combining smoke and heat detection in a single unit. Designed for use within an Ajax system, it uses sealed lithium batteries to provide up to 10 years of battery life, reducing routine battery maintenance over the detector's service period.

Smoke detection is handled by a dual-spectrum optical sensor working with the HazeFlow 2 software algorithm. This combination is designed to distinguish smoke from vapour and water steam, helping to reduce unwanted alarms. The smoke chamber is dustproof, resistant to insect ingress and requires no regular cleaning.

For heat detection, two A1R-class thermistors are positioned outside the enclosure to minimise detection delays. The detector raises an alarm if the temperature increases by 10°C within one minute or exceeds +64°C.

FireProtect 2 detectors can be interconnected using two parallel methods. Primary interconnection operates through an Ajax hub and can activate the built-in sirens of all fire detectors in the system within 20 seconds. A fallback detector-to-detector interconnection provides additional resilience if communication with the hub is unavailable.

Jeweller wireless communication provides a range of up to 1,700 metres in open space, with system supervision including regular polling, automatic self-diagnosis and maintenance notifications. A built-in 85 dB siren and LED status indication provide local alerts, while the SmartBracket mounting panel and QR code pairing support straightforward installation and setup.
