Ajax Residence Line FireProtect 2 Wireless Sealed Battery Heat Detector

The Ajax Residence Line FireProtect 2 SB (Heat) Jeweller is a wireless heat detector designed to provide temperature-based fire detection within an Ajax system. It uses two A1R-class thermistors positioned outside the enclosure to minimise detection delays and can raise an alarm if the temperature rises by 10°C within one minute or exceeds +64°C.

The sealed-battery version is powered by two sealed lithium batteries with a stated battery life of up to 10 years. This helps reduce ongoing battery maintenance while supporting long-term installation in suitable indoor environments.

FireProtect 2 detectors can be interconnected using two parallel methods. Primary interconnection operates through an Ajax hub, while fallback detector-to-detector interconnection provides an additional alarm path. In normal operation, the initiating detector sends an alarm to the hub, which can activate the built-in sirens of all fire detectors in the system within 20 seconds. The fallback interconnection also sends the alarm to other detectors, allowing the system to notify occupants even if hub communication is unavailable.

Jeweller wireless communication provides a range of up to 1,700 metres in open space, with system supervision including regular polling, automatic self-diagnosis and instant maintenance notifications. The detector also incorporates an 85 dB siren and LED status indication.

Installation is supported by the SmartBracket mounting panel, which allows the detector to be fitted without disassembling the enclosure. Pairing with an Ajax hub is completed using a QR code, with remote control and configuration available through the Ajax app.
