C-TEC CA408R CAST Relay Base

The C-TEC CA408 CAST Detector Base is designed for use with C-TEC’s range of CAST addressable detectors. It provides a secure and practical mounting base for compatible CAST fire detection devices, supporting straightforward installation while maintaining reliable system connectivity.

The base has been designed with a generous working area to make cable termination easier. Its simple click and twist design allows compatible detector heads to be fitted quickly and securely, while the integrated detector/base locking mechanism helps prevent unwanted detector removal once installed.

The CA408 can be ceiling mounted in any orientation, supported by the 360° viewing angle of the LED indicator strips on CAST detectors. It also includes remote LED terminals for optional connection to a BF318 remote indicator, making it suitable for applications where detector status needs to be visible from an alternative location.

The base is compatible with C-TEC’s full range of CAST addressable detectors and many CAST protocol sounder VADs. It is LPCB certified to the relevant parts of EN54 as part of C-TEC’s CAST fire detector certifications, and is also certified to EN54-13 by Kiwa Telefication and DBI.

Constructed from white UL94 V-2 rated polycarbonate, the CA408 offers a clean installed appearance and durable connection platform for CAST detection systems. It is suitable for new CAST installations, system extensions and replacement applications where a compatible detector base is required.
