Ajax Residence Line FireProtect 2 Wireless Mains Powered Heat Detector

The Ajax Residence Line FireProtect 2 AC (Heat) Jeweller is a wireless mains-powered heat detector designed to provide reliable fire detection as part of an Ajax system. Powered by a mains supply, it also incorporates a sealed backup battery, allowing the detector to continue operating during a mains power outage throughout its 10-year lifespan.

Fire detection is provided by two A1R-class thermistors positioned outside the enclosure to minimise detection delays. An alarm is activated if the temperature rises by 10°C within one minute or exceeds +64°C, providing rapid notification of potentially dangerous temperature conditions.

FireProtect 2 AC supports primary interconnected alarms through an Ajax hub and fallback detector-to-detector interconnection. The hub can activate the primary interconnection in 20 seconds, while fallback interconnection allows detectors to raise an interconnected alarm even if communication with the hub is lost. Alarm details, including the initiating detector location, fire alarm type and exact time, are available through Ajax apps.

Jeweller wireless technology provides communication with the hub over distances of up to 1,700 metres in open space. Automatic self-diagnosis, device polling, maintenance notifications, an integrated 85 dB siren and LED status indication support ongoing monitoring and maintenance. Installation is simplified by the SmartBracket mounting panel and removable WAGO 221 connectors, which allow wiring to be secured without a screwdriver.

The detector complies with BS 5839 Part 6 Grade D1 and BS 5446-2:2003 and carries BSI Kitemark certification for heat alarms.
