The Ajax Baseline MotionProtect Plus U Wireless PIR Motion Detector combines a PIR sensor with an additional K-band microwave sensor for enhanced indoor motion detection.

Both sensing technologies must detect movement before the device triggers, helping reduce false alarms in environments where conventional PIR detection may be affected by factors such as air movement or thermal interference.

MotionProtect Plus U Jeweller provides a detection range of up to 12 m when installed at the recommended height of 2.4 m, with an 88.5° horizontal detection angle.

Ajax SmartDetect algorithms further help filter false alarms, while temperature compensation maintains motion detection performance across the supported operating temperature range.

Pet immunity is available for animals weighing up to 20 kg and measuring up to 50 cm in height when the detector is correctly installed and configured. Three sensitivity levels can be selected remotely through the Ajax app to suit the installation environment.

Wireless communication is handled through Jeweller technology, providing encrypted communication with a compatible Ajax hub or range extender at distances of up to 1,200 m in open space. Frequency hopping helps resist radio interference and jamming, while device authentication provides protection against spoofing.

The detector includes tamper protection and a holding screw for securing it to the SmartBracket mounting panel. Installation is simplified through QR code pairing and remote configuration in Ajax apps. A pre-installed CR123A battery provides up to five years of operation, reducing ongoing maintenance requirements.
