The VALKYRIE AB is a wall-mounted addressable beacon designed for low power consumption. Up to 32 individually addressed beacons can be installed on a single loop, using addresses 94 to 125. Addressing is configured via switches 1 to 5 on the 8-way DIL switch.

When individual address reporting is not required, the VALKYRIE AB can be set to operate as a Shadow Beacon. In this mode, the beacon does not occupy a loop address, allowing additional detection devices to be added. Shadow beacons do not report their status to the control panel, and therefore their presence on the loop is not monitored.

Although unaddressed, Shadow beacons draw loop current (3 mA in alarm) and must be included in loop loading calculations. The device uses high-intensity LED technology to deliver a highly visible flash while maintaining extremely low current consumption.
