The DHI-HY-KIT1-SLVP Alarm Kit for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing is designed to provide clear, reliable fire and gas alarm alerts for occupants who may not respond to audible alarms alone.

The kit combines a high-intensity strobe light with a vibration pad, delivering both visual and tactile alerting when a connected alarm is triggered. This dual alert method helps ensure occupants are notified quickly and can evacuate safely in an emergency.

The strobe light is mains powered and includes a rechargeable lithium battery backup, ensuring continued operation during a power failure. The vibration pad is powered directly from the strobe unit and can be placed under a pillow, mattress or seat cushion for effective overnight alerting.

Wireless interconnection allows the kit to link with compatible WisuAlarm wireless smoke, heat, carbon monoxide and gas alarms, supporting up to 24 interconnected devices. When any linked alarm activates, the strobe and vibration pad are triggered automatically.

Clear LED indicators provide system status at a glance, including fire, gas, fault, power and pairing states. This makes installation, testing and ongoing maintenance straightforward.

Designed for indoor use, the system is suitable for environments such as bedrooms, hotels, care facilities, hospitals and student accommodation where additional alarm awareness is required.

Does the WisuAlarm Deaf & Hard of Hearing Alarm Kit work with my existing smoke alarms?

The DHI-HY-KIT1-SLVP is designed to wirelessly interconnect with compatible WisuAlarm smoke, heat, carbon monoxide and gas alarms.

It will not automatically connect to smoke alarms from other manufacturers or standard standalone alarms already installed in your home. If you are unsure whether your existing WisuAlarm devices are compatible, contact us with the model numbers and we can check for you.

Do I need a WisuAlarm smoke alarm to use this kit?

Yes. The strobe light and vibration pad provide the visual and tactile warning, but a compatible WisuAlarm alarm is required to detect smoke, heat, carbon monoxide or gas and trigger the kit.

How many alarms can be connected to the kit?

The WisuAlarm wireless network supports up to 24 interconnected devices, including compatible alarms and alerting devices.

Is the kit suitable for use in a bedroom?

Yes. The kit is particularly suited to bedrooms because the vibration pad can be positioned underneath a pillow or mattress to provide a tactile warning while the occupant is asleep.

Does the Deaf & Hard of Hearing Alarm Kit detect smoke itself?

No. The DHI-HY-KIT1-SLVP is an alerting device rather than a smoke, heat or carbon monoxide detector.

It must be interconnected with a compatible WisuAlarm smoke, heat, CO or gas alarm. When one of those alarms detects a hazard, the kit activates its strobe light and vibration pad.

How long is the cable between the strobe light and vibration pad?

The cable between the strobe light and vibration pad is approximately 3 metres long.

This gives you flexibility to position the strobe where it can be clearly seen while placing the vibration pad beneath a pillow or mattress.

Does the kit need to be permanently powered?

Yes. The strobe unit is designed to remain connected to its mains power supply continuously.

It also includes a rechargeable backup battery for use if the mains supply fails.

What is the wireless range?

The maximum stated wireless range is up to 1,000 metres in open-air conditions when operating at 868 MHz.

Actual range inside a property will be lower because walls, floors, furniture and other building materials can affect the wireless signal.
