Paxton 390-727 Proximity Chrome Metal Reader

The Paxton 390-727 Proximity Chrome Metal Reader is a robust RFID proximity reader designed for contactless access control applications using Paxton Net2 and Switch2 systems.

Its metal construction and chrome finish make it suitable for installations where durability and appearance are both important, while a high vandal resistance rating supports use in more demanding locations.

Users gain access by presenting a compatible token close to the reader. The connected control unit checks the user's access permissions and then grants or denies entry as appropriate.

Three integral LEDs provide clear visual indication, with the green LED flashing when access is granted and the red LED flashing when access is denied. An audible tone is also generated in both cases.

The reader supports Paxton and EM tokens, with HID Prox compatibility available where activation has been carried out. Wiegand output is supported up to a maximum of 50 bits, and the unit is also compatible with Paxton handsfree functionality. Its IPX7 moisture resistance and operating temperature range of -35°C to +66°C provide added flexibility across a wide range of installation environments.

A 5 metre cable is supplied, with supported cable extension distances of up to 25 metres or 100 metres depending on the specified Belden cable type. The reader operates from 10-14V DC and has a current consumption of 110mA. Installation instructions also confirm the 390-727 variant operates at 110mA at 12V DC.
