Global Fire VULCAN2-ASI VULCAN 2 - Addressable Base Sounder c/w isolator

The addressable VULCAN2-ASI is available as an addressable sounder base that can be field-configured to operate in either Shadow or Auxiliary mode. Versions with an integrated loop isolator are also available. Up to 64 VULCAN2-ASI sounder devices may be connected to a single loop, subject to loop loading limits.

All VULCAN2-ASI A devices use DIP switches for address configuration, while tone and operating mode selection is set via jumpers. An integrated potentiometer allows the sound output level to be adjusted if required. The VULCAN2-ASI is typically installed in conjunction with a detector, although an optional lid is available for standalone use.

Shadow Sounder:
When configured as a Shadow Sounder, the device does not occupy an individual loop address, allowing additional addresses to be reserved for detection devices. Shadow Sounders do not report back to the control panel and their presence on the loop is therefore not monitored.

Auxiliary Sounder:
When configured as an Auxiliary device, the VULCAN2-ASI shares the same address as the co-located detector. In this mode, it monitors the address loop for a command from the control panel instructing the detector LED to activate. Upon receiving this command, the VULCAN2-ASI is also triggered.

Once a fire condition is confirmed, additional sounders can be activated using the Evacuate command. This approach minimises disruption during false alarms while still providing early warning to the affected area in the event of a genuine fire. Selecting Sounder Silence at the control panel will silence all active sounders.

A maximum of 63 Auxiliary Sounders can be configured and assigned across addresses 1 to 63.
