The Global Fire VALKYRIE-ASB is a red, wall-mounted addressable sounder/beacon designed for low power consumption. Up to 32 individually addressed sounder/beacon units can be installed on a single loop, using addresses 94 to 125. Address configuration is set via switches 1 to 5 on the 8-way DIL switch, while four selectable tones are chosen using switches 6 and 7.

Where individual address reporting is not required, the VALKYRIE-ASB can be configured as a Shadow Sounder. In this mode, the sounder does not occupy a loop address, allowing additional addresses to be used for detection devices. Shadow Sounders do not communicate with the control panel and their presence on the loop is therefore not monitored. They draw loop current (10 mA in alarm) and must be included in loop load calculations.
