The FireSmart Clean Agent GasAutomatic Fire Extinguishers are ideal to protect and combat fires in the engine compartments such as in boat or large vehicle.
Only one unit should be installed in any one compartment in order to provide the total protection required for that area. The unit required is determined by the gross volume of that compartment.
The sprinkler head detects and extinguishes fire. It is covered by a quartzoid bulb, which contains an expandable liquid.
A detector plate is attached at the end of the bulb, which helps in spraying the extinguishing agent over a large area. In case of a fire, the heat causes the liquid inside the bulb to expand, which shatters the bulb, allowing the extinguishing agent to flow from the sprinkler head.
This fire extinguisher offers protection against class B and C type fires and are also safe to use on electrical fires.

The FireSmart unit uses FK-5112, a clean agent that leaves no residue and is safe for electrical equipment.
It is suitable for Class B (flammable liquids) and Class C (flammable gases) fires, and is safe on electrical (live) systems.
This model uses a heat-sensitive bulb that activates at around 79 °C ±5 °C.
A quartz (quartzoid) bulb senses the heat rise. When the temperature reaches the threshold, the bulb bursts and allows the agent to discharge via the sprinkler head.
