Astro PFP FR Graphite is a premium-grade fire protection sealant designed to help prevent the passage of fire, smoke and gases through gaps in fire-rated walls and floors.
When exposed to high temperatures, it expands to seal openings around penetrations, closing gaps left when combustible or low-melting-point materials have been destroyed by fire.
It is particularly well suited to sealing more challenging service penetrations that standard fire-rated mastics may not accommodate, including larger plastic pipe penetrations.
For best results, it should be used with a suitable backing material, such as stone wool or Astrolflame Backing Material, to achieve the correct width-to-depth ratio and help minimise shrinkage during curing.
The sealant activates thermally at approximately 150°C, expanding to form an intumescent barrier that can resist the passage of fire and smoke for up to four hours.
Premium-grade fire protection sealant
Designed to block fire, smoke and gases
Suitable for challenging penetrations, including plastic pipes
High sound insulation
Fire-rated for plastic pipes, cables and combustible insulation
Low emissions, eco-friendly formulation
No priming required on most surfaces
Suitable for concrete, brick, steel, wood, gypsum and plastics
Flexible, with movement capability up to 12.5%
Quick hardening, tack-free in 1 hour
Fire rating based on a 30-day cure
12-month storage life
30-year life expectancy
