The Apollo 55000-391APO AlarmSense Integrating Optical Smoke Detector is designed for environments where transient smoke conditions may otherwise cause nuisance alarms.
Using the light scatter principle, the detector identifies smoke particles within the sensing chamber but incorporates an integrating response that filters out short-term, non-fire related sources such as steam or brief airborne contaminants. This controlled delay in signalling makes it suitable for areas where occasional background smoke or dust is expected.
The detector is particularly effective at detecting slow-burning and smouldering fires while reducing unwanted activations in more challenging locations.
As part of the AlarmSense range, it connects to a two-wire conventional system that allows detectors, sounders and call points to share a single cable pair, simplifying installation and reducing wiring costs.
