Eaton DET-2R-SMOKE Radio Smoke Detector

The Eaton (Scantronic) DET-2R-SMOKE is a radio smoke detector for compatible intruder alarm systems, designed to provide local smoke detection with the added benefit of wireless signalling back to the control equipment.

It uses optical smoke sensing and includes a built-in 85dB sounder for local alarm indication. It is suited to residential and light commercial installations where a wireless smoke detector is preferred, either as part of a radio system or alongside compatible hybrid intruder alarm panels.

The smoke detector can also be programmed to trigger control panel sounders, helping extend notification beyond the detector itself.

Using encrypted two-way radio communication, the DET-2R-SMOKE is designed to work with current Scantronic and i-on systems, helping provide installation flexibility without the need for detector cabling.

It offers a free-space radio range of up to 700 metres and includes tamper protection for added security.

The detector is independently certified to EN14604, rated Grade 2 and powered by 3 x AA alkaline batteries, with a typical battery life of around 24 months. It is intended for indoor use and is rated IP40.
