The Doormouse DR87-0370 24V Magnetic Fire Door Retainer is a wall-mounted electromagnetic door holder designed to safely hold fire doors open under normal conditions and automatically release them in the event of a fire alarm.

When connected to a fire alarm system, the unit releases the door immediately upon alarm activation by cutting power to the magnet, allowing the door’s standard closing mechanism to shut the door and help contain fire and smoke.

Housed in a durable fire-resistant ABS plastic casing, the retainer is built for reliability in high-use environments while maintaining a clean, unobtrusive appearance.

The unit features a spring-loaded pin that ensures zero residual magnetism when de-energised, allowing the door to close freely without sticking. An integrated manual release button also enables the door to be closed at any time without triggering the fire alarm system.
