The Baldwin Boxall BVOCET Emergency / Steward Telephone is a robust, addressable outstation designed for use on the OmniCare Emergency Voice Communication (EVC) system.
It provides full-duplex, two-way speech communication between refuge locations or steward points and the central control panel, ensuring clear, reliable communication during evacuations and event management.
The unit features a green steel enclosure with a push-catch door (BVOCET) or a lockable door version (BVOCETL), both housing a rugged red handset with a hearing-aid–compatible earpiece and loudspeaker.
Calls are automatically initiated when the door is opened, and can be handled via the handset or hands-free mode. Closing the door ends the call.
The BVOCET range is self-powered from the system ring circuit, requiring no local mains supply. Battery backup is automatically provided by the control panel. A version with integrated beacon is also available for enhanced visibility in noisy or busy environments.
Designed for high-traffic public buildings, stadiums, transport hubs and multi-storey commercial sites, this outstation supports conference calling via the master panel and can be surface or flush mounted using the optional bezel.
It is fully compliant with BS 5839-9:2021 and can be installed on the same loop as disabled refuge, advanced refuge, fire telephones and emergency assistance alarm units.
