The Hochiki espFIREbeam Xtra Beam Smoke Sensor is an advanced reflective beam smoke detector designed to provide reliable smoke detection across large open spaces. Fully approved to EN 54-12:2015 and VdS certified, the detector delivers dependable fire detection performance with a maximum coverage range of up to 160 metres when used with optional reflector extension kits.
Utilising newly designed high-performance optics, the Hochiki espFIREbeam Xtra increases detection sensitivity while enhanced internal software helps reduce nuisance alarms. This combination ensures accurate detection in environments such as warehouses, atriums, and large industrial buildings where traditional point detectors may not be practical.
The system includes a separate controller unit that enables engineers to commission, monitor, and maintain the detector conveniently from ground level, eliminating the need for access equipment during setup and routine maintenance. The detector features advanced motorised technology that automatically self-aligns with the reflector during commissioning, significantly simplifying installation.
Once operational, the Hochiki espFIREbeam Xtra continuously monitors its alignment and will automatically adjust itself if building movement occurs, ensuring ongoing detection accuracy and long-term system reliability.
An integral loop module allows direct connection to the Hochiki ESP analogue addressable loop, providing seamless integration into Hochiki fire detection systems.
Standard detection range of 7–70 m
Optional reflector extension kits increase coverage up to 160 m
Newly designed optics for improved sensitivity and reduced false alarms
Motorised self-alignment for quick and accurate commissioning
Automatic realignment to compensate for building movement
Separate controller for ground-level commissioning and maintenance
