The Apollo Intelligent Base Mounted UV Flame Detector is designed for fast, reliable flame detection in fully enclosed indoor environments where open fires may be expected. Using a single ultraviolet sensor with a narrow spectral response, it detects flames at distances of over 25 m while effectively discriminating against most non-fire radiation sources.
The detector responds to UV radiation in the 185–260 nm range emitted by nearly all flames, including invisible hydrogen fires. It can also detect stationary flames such as cigarette lighters and blue gas flames. Loop-powered with no external supply required, it supports remote LED alarm indication and is ideal for applications where airflow, draughts, or wind could affect other detection methods, such as ship engine rooms, factories, and warehouses. However, it may also respond to arc welding, electrical sparks, lightning, and other strong UV sources, so it is not suitable for environments where these conditions are present.
Responds to stationary flames with no flicker
Sensitive to UV radiation emitted by flames during combustion
Compact flame detector which fits into Discovery or XP95 bases
Loop-powered
Supply voltage | 17 - 28 V dc |
Quiescent current | 2.3 mA |
Alarm current | 4.2 mA |
Operating range | 0.1 m² n-heptane at 25 m |

Storage temperature | -40ºC to +85ºC |
IP rating | IP66 |
Dimensions (Detector only) | 100 mm x 40 mm |
Dimensions (Detector and base) | 100 mm x 48 mm |
