The Apollo Intelligent Base Mounted UV IR² Flame Detector is designed for reliable flame detection in open indoor environments such as aircraft hangars, generator rooms, and paint facilities where open flaming fires may occur.
It combines one ultraviolet sensor with two infrared sensors operating at different wavelengths to accurately distinguish real flames from spurious radiation sources. The detector responds to UV radiation in the 185–260 nm range and low-frequency, flickering infrared radiation (0.75–2.7 μm at 1–15 Hz), enabling rapid detection of all flickering flames, including invisible hydrogen fires.
By requiring both UV and IR signals, false alarms caused by lightning, arc welding, or flickering sunlight are significantly reduced. Loop-powered with no external supply required, the detector supports remote LED alarm indication and delivers fast, dependable performance at distances greater than 25 m, even in environments affected by airflow, fumes, vapours, steam, dust, or mist.
Responds to stationary flames with no flicker
Sensitive to UV and low-frequency flickering IR radiation emitted by flames during combustion
Compact flame detector which fits into Discovery or XP95 bases
Loop-powered
False alarms due to electrical discharges from lightning or arc welding and flickering sunlight are minimised
Quiescent current | 2.3 mA |
Alarm current | 4.2 mA |
Maximum power-up time | 4 seconds |
Operating temperature | -40ºC to +70ºC |
Storage temperature | -40ºC to +85ºC |
